"Most days of the year are unremarkable. They begin and they end with no lasting memories made in between.. Most days have no impact on the course of a life.."
But today was.. different.
We live each day expecting for something unusual. Something new. Something different. Like doing new things. Singing a different song. Eating a new dish. Meeting new people. And somehow.. we learn and gain, (if not unconsciously), something from it. Encounters that could provoke our brain cells and could shift our perspective on how we see things.
I learned and have accepted the fact that despite our goodness.. people do have their bad side. That some things doesn't always appear good from inside out. Some people can get potty mouth once in a while, and I guess we'll all benefit if all of us would learn how to be sensitive from time to time.
One should never underestimate the power of silence. For those who utilized such power are more keen to observe and more focused on determining the reason for every acts other people have been showing.
If you want to learn something from some people.. listen what he/she says to other people. Those who usually and "normally" bash or say something negative about other people without any diffidence or consideration would most likely have something to say on your back.
I also learned (and been learning) that one should never exist for anybody's approval. It was never worth it. If people started hating you.. then you started doing something right. Remember.. those people who matter give constructive criticisms. They provide room for growth. While others who don't, trash talk, focus on your short comings and talks on your back.
We benefit from our experience. We learn. We move on. Bearing in mind what Aristotle once said..
"The Ideal Man bears the accidents of life with dignity and grace, making the best of circumstances." We make the most out of every unpleasant situations and extract everything we need in order for us to grow better.

But today, Nov. 18, 2011, was.. different. I was thankful for the few people I've met. I learned. And will keep on learning.
