Prendre la fuite

You know what's sad? When two lost souls find solace from each other due to the lingering sadness they both feel. Like two people sitting alone at the both ends of the bar. Or two commuters who caught a 3-second glance. Like two strangers who've chosen to transverse a path both uncommon to them. Or when two different people chose to get soaked under the rain.

One may assume a falsely created sense of happiness once the fragments of the memories that both are trying to forget has been eradicated, or shall we say, temporarily hidden by the time spent with someone who seems to understand the agony and shares the same sorrow. But the emptiness was too deep to be covered by euphoria caused by superficial sense of belongingness. Yeah, misery do loves company.

It would be smooth sailing definitely until the other party eases one's personal turmoil and the other half still left distraught by the sole reason why the latter met the former in the first place. Then came the realization that the war he left is still unfinished. An inner battle he's been trying to run away from. A fight he must face by himself.

It sure was a great escape, but sooner or later, reality would strike back lashing the fresh but hidden wounds of the past. And there's no other way but to gather oneself and..go back.
