23 and Dangerous

"..you're young, there're still so many things ahead of you."

After being told for so many times, this phrase has lost its significance and the meaning it tries to convey has already been blocked. Though the point was made, this flock of pretentious words are always used as an excuse to reject, to inform, to warn and to state what's already obvious.

An age where career is on its way to the zenith. And false love always seems to be around. An age where the society expects conformity and deviancy will be subjected to scrutinity. Equipped with big guns and piercing looks, youth becomes a temptation to the weak and a deadly tool to break fragile hearts. It causes the grounds of those who were on the rocks crumble. Making quick shifts to the left, forgetting what is right.

So as a precautionary measure, such young adults and yuppies tend not be taken seriously by those who belong on the upper age bracket and by those who understands what the young blooded vampires are capable of. They tend to give in either partially or faked whole-heartedly. So as not to get hurt once the young animals decides to slash back. Promiscuity is at its finest and polygamy seemed acceptable.

But look past through the mask they convey, and you'll still see a child working in progress. Inexperienced. Far from that vicious animal you've think of before. Give them the chance to grow and try not to cause them too much pain. In time, you'll see a wonder craft too precious to be owned, but with a loyalty they think you deserve.

Come to think of it, 23 is just a number. Maturity radiates from the heart.
