Vulnerare

It takes some courage to love. People spend their lives building walls after a failed attempt on love. Yet they forget to build enough bridges to pass through. Those who're trying to reach out from the outside can't reach in. And the one inside gets jailed together with own's misery, trapped and nowhere to go.

The pain we feel from self-less love indeed changes us. The positive outlook becomes corrupted by the tears of emptiness and pain we felt. Then we raise our guards as if we're expecting another blow of fate.

Despite the exaggeration and absurdity, such thing is a normal response of those whose hearts were beaten and crushed. The dilemma now is how we drive the rest of the love journey while bearing the experience we had in the past.

To love is to be vulnerable. It's presenting the most assailable part of your body to someone you've given a knife, hoping he/she won't thrust it into you and let you bleed to death. Loving is continuously exposing yourself despite knowing such possibility.

Once you became susceptible, you'll be sensitive enough too to notice all the love surrounding you just waiting to be noticed.

"I love you."

Never knew saying such could be this liberating.
